  • I found a laser pointer at PetCo this weekend that charges via USB. Just remove the cap on the end, and plug it in like a flash drive. No cable necessary. Never seen one that didn’t require the three little batteries, so I snatched it up so quickly.

They also raise menu prices to make even more profit. I 'll never now somewhat understand why non-disabled people use food delivery apps. It’s always cheaper to just pick it up yourself. Even if the restaurant does their own delivery, they still charge a delivery fee and you’re expected to tip. Quit being lazy/rich and just pick up your own meal.

  • I used to prefer CRTs too… And then I got an OLED. Nothing else comes close, not even the best CRTs. Especially if it’s got quantum dots in combination with OLED.

Given that input lag was already solved five years ago, really the only advantage CRTs still have left is their ability to look great at non-native resolutions. But upscaling filters like HQX/xBR for retro games, and DLSS/FSR for modern titles, have all but completely eliminated that last remaining advantage. These filters are really good at upscaling lower resolution content to fit your display’s pixels. Hell, DLSS is so good that it looks better than native 4K.

  • It’s been over 3 years now and I haven’t had a single issue. I made sure to plug in the 12VHPR cable all the way and avoid bending it. I also made sure to buy a top tier PCIe 5 PSU.

The issue was vastly blown out of proportion. Don’t be an idiot and you have nothing to worry about.

  • My biggest regret is going with 32 of instead of 64GB of DDR5, when I built a new Ryzen 7000 PC in 2022 to replace my aging 4th gen i5.

But what I don’t regret is ignoring everyone telling me not to do all sorts of unspeakable things to snag a $1600 4090 at launch, especially given that it was never sold that cheaply ever again. It’s a beast of a card and I’ll easily get a decade of gaming out of it. Saw 4090s going for over $3K used on eBay lately, so yeah I’m happy with making what was a dumb decision at the time.
