Every year there’s one free game that interests me. Otherwise eventually I’m going to give my Epic account to one of my nephews/nieces.

Games@lemmy.world•Is there any decent PvP FPS that's not infested with cheaters? Looking for a decent PvP FPSEnglish
2·17 days agoIn WW1 over the top, there’s probably cheaters. But the weapons are WWI inaccurate so not sure if a cheater would get much of an advantage. Plus 200 player chaos

I have only lived with this 49" monitor for about 3 weeks now. It’s oled, better than my previous 32" Samsung, but not a huge improvement - mainly better blacks. My work flow was 3 monitors with 3 different applications: file/folder/misc - browser | IDE - Inspector. With one monitor I pulled inspector into the browser and split the screen with my IDE. It’s much nicer, workflow wise.
Also versus a multi-monitor setup, I think it’s mostly superior, although I do prefer having vertical side monitors. It’s less power and less draw on my card. My GPU is basically getting the same FPS ( maybe 10 FPS less) for running in 5120 by 1440p. I haven’t tried anything demanding yet, Hell Let Loose ran around 60+ FPS. - currently playing Divinity 2 @ Ultra with an old 5700 and getting between 60-70 FPS.
But a nice 32"+ single monitor also works very well, if you don’t need a large space to work in. IMO if you need that 3 monitor setup, it’s worth it.
I recently picked up a 49" MSI OLED monitor and it has a built program to prevent burn in. I’ve only had it for a week, but it’s so much better than 3 monitors imo. I used it mainly for work, and a little gaming. No issues with either.

Games@lemmy.world•Video Games Need to Be Cheaper to BuyEnglish
6·2 months agoBasically do the same thing. Until a game hits $20 or less, I won’t purchase it. For $70, I would rather buy something useful like new shoes.
At least there’s still a chance for profit, just got to sell some flowers
I went to a Radio Shack a few years back. They still exist as well

Technology@lemmy.world•Can workers compete with machines and stay relevant in the AI era?English
3·2 months agoAt my current job, I use AI frequently.
But it’s nowhere near replacing me. It’s like having a 12 year old intern that’s an inexperienced genius.
It’s great for saving me 10 minutes to write out some simple HTML or structured data. But it’s definitely not perfect and tends to add unnecessary changes, I constantly have to review and add new rules.
So I don’t think it’s replacing any humans any time soon, but it has gotten exponentially better over just a few months. So maybe in a few years, I’ll start to worry.

Then you just get a VPN and carry on as usual. In 25 years or so I have gotten 2 warnings.
