    Just FYI, a more respectful term would be “transfem person”, ‘tranny’ is a slur that can make many trans people uncomfortable when used

      Actually, in the cartography community they’ve reclaimed the word and now the best practice has flipped. In this context it’s short for transcontinental.

      i will admit i miss being able to use the word around the auto shop. since i’m not around the auto shop i don’t have much opportunity anyways and i’d rather let everyone feel comfortable in the space.

      you can pry jenny from my cold dead lexicon tho

      Personally, I think there’s no real “political correctness”. Something is only offensive if you let it have that affect on you. Otherwise, it’s a bunch of assumed possible offensiveness worrying someone might get their feelings hurt.

      Now, that’s not an excuse to be a jerk to people, I’m just saying I feel it’s mostly made up as another means of coerced control.
