The only music station I listen to is one run by the students in a liberal art college near me, on a good day it has a range of something like 10 miles. There is almost no talking except station ID notices and everything they play is music I like.

I’m a 50 year old goat farmer with “scene girl” taste in music.

That’s because the ads on GTA radio are just comedy bits. If ads on real radio were just clips of standup comedians, I wouldn’t complain about 'em. 🤷‍♂️

Also, is the DJ David Cross voices for KULT FM the same character he voices in San Andreas? 🤔

Lazlow Jones (the writer/voice of the radio stations) and Dan Houser (Co-founder of Rockstar) left the company to work on an AI Satire venture.

Old World Radio for Fallout 4 is the best radio I have yet come across. Ice Cream Carl is the best DJ! I will die on this hill.

I’ve played New Vegas so much that I can now actually just sing along to half the songs in the game.

I’ve got a decent baritone voice, I can do Big Iron, Blue Moon, Heartaches by the Number, Jingle Jangle Jingle, whistle the solos, etc.

Butcher Pete from FO3 is also quite fun to sing, haha!

And of course: I Don’t Want To Set The World On Fire.

And and, I dunno if These Boots Are Made For Walkin’ made it into a Fallout game, but it very much seems to fit, and I taught myself to sing a baritone version of it.

Also you’d really think Hound Dog and Heartbreak Hotel would fit in, but I guess nobody can afford the licensing rights, hah!

But yeah I’m gonna say Mr. New Vegas is my favorite dj from the series… much better voice synthesis than our modern day, newfangled LLMs, Mr. House has some kinda trick up his sleeve, as usual.

We got self-refferential ‘chuck norris’ jokes:

“You know, I tried to measure my Charisma on a Vit-o-matic Vigor Tester once. The machine burst into flames.”

… and a comforting, soft yet commanding voice, telling you:

“It’s me again, Mr. New Vegas, reminding you that you’re nobody 'til somebody loves you. And that somebody is me. I love you.”

      <3

E: GTA got me listening to K-DST day and night as well

In all fairness, I have GTA 4 to thank for introducing me to LCD Soundsystem, so, also very very good, just… kinda harder to sing along to, so much of their music is incredible soundscapes.

        Different flavors of awesome.

        Oh that reminds me!

Don’t think this counts as an in game radio station…

But holy shit, PayDay 2’s entire cumulative soundtrack at this point.

If you wanna do something high octane, turn that shit on, you will be amped.

For sure Payday had bangers, it’s been a while though I’ll be listening soon. As for high octane shit it’s always been an easy win for the Doom series for me

Oh I mean, Doom’s OSTs have had so many good songs, I didn’t even think to mention to mention it lol, its like the basline from which ‘intense frenetic action’ is measured lol.

I was so upset the other day, I went onto Spotify and looked up GTA San Andreas radio, and hit shuffle. This is a playlist I’ve used for a while that was always accurate to the original game, but sometime seemingly recently someone added songs that absolutely weren’t on the original playlist, things like dua lipa. The playlist had been infected with like 8 songs, mostly from 2019. Shit was beyond disappointing, but that’s what I get for using Spotify.

You could look up the songs used in San Andreas and put together your own Playlist. Fix the injustice in the world and all that.

You can literally just copy/paste the songs into a new playlist and delete the weird ones. It wouldn’t even be remotely hard

Burnout Paradise had a really awesome soundtrack, too. Driving games always pay for the bangers, and it must be a lot of fun to write fake news and whatnot for interstitials.

Fight Music for the Fight is still one of the most blood-pumping tracks I’ve come across. Amazing it shares a soundtrack with a censored version of Girlfriend by Avril Levine.
