I can’t speak to the laws in other nations but in the US it depends a lot on where they’re recording. If you’re just out on the street, it’s not only not a crime to record in public, it’s a protected right. I wish I could do better than my parents but that is out of the question. I grew up poor, we were middle class when I was in high school, and then my boomer dad started making good money right as I was graduating and moved out. I make less less than half of what he was making 35 years ago, not even adjusting for inflation.
