I was the same way. Got about 20 hours in and just couldn’t get into it. I played with friends, bot matches, ranked, a variety of characters, and just never got the appeal. I really don’t have a competitive spirit, so maybe that’s the draw I’m not getting.
I’m reminded of a story I heard about a woman in South America (I don’t remember the country.) Her best friend attended a protest one year. She makes a post on Facebook about supporting her best friend. A few years pass, and the government started becoming more and more authoritarian. Finally, she gets a visit from the police, asking about her ties to her best friend, and is threatened with arrest unless she can prove she’s not tied to the protest as well.
I’m probably getting some details wrong, but it’s a thought that stuck with me. She didn’t have anything to hide at the time. But things change, and you can’t always predict what you’ll have wish you had kept private before.
Google also appended a 90 day disclosure policy to their reports. FFmpeg can always say , we’re not going to fix that, but that would mean a security issue would be published, and letting nefarious actors act on it. Even if it would only affect 3 users, the idea that the follow up information of, “don’t use FFmpeg for this use case or you’ll be hacked,” would be out there.
The criticism arrises from the fact Google, the multinational mega-corp, is sending these reports with the 90 day disclosure policy to a tiny unpaid team. How about the company with something like $100,000,000,000/year in net income offer a patch or two?
The Bud Light can design was introduced in 2004 and lasted until 2008. Being one of the most disposable items, I’d guess the pile was made in those years.
