News@lemmy.world•Epstein Files: Investigation suggests just 2% of data released to publicEnglish
7·2 months agoI support your sentiment, but this photo is sensationalist and factually not true.
That is of Sandringham house, which is partly open the public. I don’t think they would even allow him to come near it besides perhaps Christmas.
What is true is that he does live on Sandringham estate, there are many properties on that estate.
The house he is in is called Marsh farm, a 5 bedroom, 2 bathroom building 1.5 miles away from Sandringham house.

Because the area is known to be pretty cold its been dubbed “royal version if exile to Siberia”
Its still a grotesque example of unfair justice between classes but its not a palace.

Technology@lemmy.world•Why are people disconnecting or destroying their Ring cameras?English
1·2 months agoNot hard at all. Its basically a debian system that you can access trough the browser with your main pc from which you can make different vms and lxc (vm but smaller and more efficient)
Every service or project gets its own lxc, all lxc share hardware resources automatically.

1·2 months agoTechnically correct but any suggestions on how to differentiate between the different qualities of models?
Local llms have barely reached the point where output is comprehensible, in the mean time chatgpt can effectively scam elderly people.

44·2 months agoOr hear me out,
Buy one that stores its data only on your local network and does not rely on corporate cloud or servers in any way or form.
This counts for all most all consumer home technology.
People should think about a NASS or Home servers like they do about owning a vehicle.

My selfhosting gimmick is “no reliance on things outside my control”

I am in the “i dont have autism, i am autism” camp because i consider stereotypical autistic behavior to be “autisms”.
When neurotypicals start saying “they or everyone also have a little autism” what i understand is they have 1 or 2 autisms but besides those scenarios they are completely within classic norms. The difference then with someone like me is there is no situation in my life where i am not actively experiencing one or more autisms. I have never known anything else and i therefore developed my identity with autism as a core part of who i am.
This said, i would so much prefer that everyone used the term neurodivergent instead and left the term autism for professional medical diagnosis only. Its so much more inclusive, and vague enough people don’t stereotype it in assuming rainman/savantism.
