  • Sounds like you’ve thought much of it through already. I’m not familiar with that type of product but am thinking if you already did the testing/whatnot to comply with whatever local and national regulations exist then you’re okay to start off. I think(?) you’ll want a resale certificate or similar for the state you’re in if you’re going to be dealing with b2b sales but could be mistaken (the buyers definitely want that).

I’m not a buyer but work at a small business that buys other types of product so I’ve seen this stuff play out. Quick notes

What should I roughly expect when I go to physical stores to sell my product to them? Do I simply walk in and ask for a manager?

You probably want to ask who’s in charge of evaluating and buying product. There might be someone there who’s job is actually to be the buyer for the store, otherwise it usually comes down to a manager or the owner(s).

Am I missing something in my preparation (physical or mental)? Are products generally on consignment to stores or are they bought outright?

Can’t speak for other stores but where I work if the buyer/owner likes the product they’ll commit to buying a few cases and see how it sells… after that you have to hope they’ll want to re-order at a future date. That’s when you check in with them and see how things are going, if they need more product, etc. More rarely if the buyer is really into the product they might actually buy a case or two during your initial sales meeting.

Should I bring enough stock to the first meeting or is it normal to drop off products on a separate/later date?

Most sales people seem to bring samples with them so they can leave them in the case the buyer isn’t around. Then they call/visit to follow up, maybe leave more samples, etc… I don’t know if that’s the best approach but it’s one way. The sale would work better if you actually get to meet the buyer but you can’t rely on knowing their schedule, setting up a meeting they might blow off, etc… The place I work at doesn’t have a buyer physically there 7 days a week so people popping in to sell tend to miss them and end up talking to a manager or whoever happens to be at the store that day.

And like the other comment said, be prepared to be told “No” a lot. You’re not the first or last person that’s been at the store selling creams/lotions, always keep that in mind.

  • Yes, QWERTY. But I’m just old enough to actually have typing class as an elective in high school, not sure if that’s still a thing in 2026. It was useful and being into tech I knew it was something I’d need to learn.

I’ll add that the keyboard you’re using is important for touch typing. Some keyboards don’t have good bumps/notches on the keys which makes it harder to do any real touch typing without looking down at the keyboard.

  • However I want the option to expand it as I find new music here and there.

With Jellyfin or other self hosted media player you’ll be able to add files as you like. I usually buy music in FLAC format from Bandcamp and Qobuz to add to my own library. That’s in addition to other music I ripped from CDs over the years.

but are there good options to “sync” the library to my phone other than just simply drag and drop the media?

Some Jellyfin apps have an offline mode (Finamp is one of them) so you can stream music online from your Jellyfin server or mark albums/songs to download within the app and then be able to play that music offline. I use it since I don’t have unlimited mobile data but still want to have some music on my phone for offline play. Not sure if that’s the best way but so far it works for my usage.

  • Some Anglosphere countries (USA, Canada, Ireland, Australia) love to add fluoride in water.

Not sure about the other countries you mentioned but wanted to note that not all cities in the United States add fluoride to their water systems. I’m in the U.S. in a city without fluoride water treatment, there are definitely others.

Do they put fluoride in your drinking water ?

    No.

    Are you happy with that?

    Yes.

My understanding is that fluoride’s benefits are mainly as a topical treatment, meaning its best used as part of toothpaste or rinse.

  • Yes, a lot of us left during the API exodus. Reddit was already going downhill anyway with all the bot spam and shills, that’s probably even worse there nowadays.

Once in a while I do bring up old.reddit to read through some communities that haven’t caught on here (yet), or maybe something that comes up in a google search, but that hasn’t been enough to make me want to log back in there let alone post/comment on anything.

  • Just about everything is better than non-stick pans. Like others pointed out the non-stick chemicals will eventually flake off into your food so you’re eating that stuff. And non-stick pans sort of have an expiration date, they will eventually lose all their non-stick abilities at which point you’ll wonder what’s the point of using it anymore.

Beyond that the other stuff is maybe more personal preference. Stainless steel is great keeping in mind you’ll always have to oil it and always have to clean it well. On the other hand cast-iron is essentially always oiled and ready to go so you typically don’t worry about that part of the cooking.

re: your other question I was forced to use something electric at my current home and ended up getting an induction stove after a lifetime of using gas stoves. I love the induction stove so much I’m not sure I’d want to go back to something else. It heats up so fast that I had to re-learn some of my cooking since the pan always reaches the desired temperature in a few seconds. Induction stoves are also safer, there are no open flames and no gas fumes hanging around.

  • Not sure if it’s really what you’re asking about but the Aqua Teen Hunger Force series has a few fake video games during the series. The Video Ouija episode has two, “Video Ouija” (a game where you summon/talk to ghosts) and “Insult Master” (a game where you insult your opponent), I’d play either of those if they existed LOL. e.g.

Frylock: Okay, Meatwad. Time to put the game up. It’s gettin’ late.
Meatwad: Come on!! Just one more dead person, please? Just one more dead guy.
    Frylock: All right, one more.

Meatwad: Spirits that haunt this house. Tell me…what was we talkin’ 'bout?
    Game Ghost: My sister’s baby.

Meatwad: Oh yeah, one them other dead boys told me about that. How she doin?
Game Ghost: She’s dead. We’re all dead.

A game I’m not sure I’d play is the one featured in the Black Mirror episode Playtest. It’s basically an augmented reality game that auto-generates your personal fears that you get to experience in realtime. Maybe it’d be interesting to try once, safely, but I don’t know how often I’d want to test my sanity in that way.

  • Best all around is to just remember to include fiber in all your meals. Veggies, nuts, seeds, whole grains, that sort of thing. You won’t have much trouble going when you’re ready to go. In the U.S. that also means not buying much take out / fast food junk, hardly any of those foods have fiber.

If you meant “quickest” then you might be thinking of foods with a laxative effect, a quick drink of black coffee cold brew concentrate works for me. Something I discovered by accident when in a rush to get my day going one morning LOL.
