3·2 days agoI love saying protagonists humanized. I feel like it’s easy to make a protagonist that’s just a bland stand in for the player. But to make a protagonist that’s feels like they actually breathe and live in the game world and not just cutscenes and dialog? There’s something really neat about that I love

2·2 days agoI just got my deck back after loaning it out, so I might have to give it a try on there out of sheer curiosity

3·2 days agoYotei lost a lot of interest from me when I found out it won’t be on PC. I do have a PS5 I bought second hand from a friend but really that’s just to play my old PS4 games and some occasional PS5 releases. With the 80$ price tag I’m really thinking I’ll skip out on Yotei. Which is a shame. I was excited

3·2 days agoIt makes me happy to see me inspiring others to pick things up. It’s something i always hope to do when I post these.
I know things are rough right now for a lot of people, both socially or even just mentally, but even just giving people suggestions of things to try that may be within their options (like older games they may not have known exist) is something I’d like to do (though I bet it’s probably a bit weird to hear me say because I play a bunch of newer-ish games).
I’m not really sure what the point is I’m trying to make, but im happy too motivate people to try new things.
You are right about my friends too. I probably don’t give them nearly enough credit but they’re a large reason I’ve managed to keep from getting into a slump myself. Even just waking up in the morning and seeing someone say “Hey, you guys free for Halo?” or saying “anyone want to hop onto Zomboid tonight?” really brightens my day and helps me feel a little less alone or burnt out. I doubt any of them will see this (and I’m going to go tell them I appreciate them after this) but they’re definitely an unspoken motivator for me

2·3 days agoLASO is definitely one of our major road blocks, I’m doing it Co-Op (because iron skull) but we’ve been maybe working on it for half a year? Haven’t made it past level 4 of CE. Another major block is the multiplayer achievements. I keep putting of Skunked in hope they make it where it can be done in a custom game, but I know I’m probably only shooting myself in the foot there
The reaction time is definitely what I was considering too. Especially because with Reach some players have sprint. So you can close that gap a whole lot faster

1·4 days agoAlways my favorite thing to do. I’ve seen some people do a skip as well in that area but I’ve never been able to pull it off (and have given up trying as I don’t want to make it unfair to my friends)

2·5 days agoI’ll try not too! Honestly doing these has done a lot for me as a person. Not too get too deep or anything but I feel like it’s given me a structure I didn’t have before

1·5 days agoI’ve got maybe 200 hours in total on mine, though that’s not including Mobile or Switch. I don’t usually get invested in the smaller things, but I love seeing how invested people can get in them

2·5 days agoI bounce around a lot and have built up quite the backlog when I was younger. It does help though that I have a lot of free time afforded to me (with a small but really spacious budget)

2·5 days agoI especially love the winter and fall themes. Maybe it’s nostalgia but I have really fond memories of waking up for class at 6 AM during December and while I was waiting to leave I’d sit there and cram a few days in.

1·6 days agoI’m a little reassured at least that I know at some point emulation will be viable, even if it will be quite a few decades later. 600$-700$ just to play a game would be ridiculous

2·7 days agoRed Dead pissed me off on my Steam Deck because I was in High School at the time and installed it, only to discover there’s no offline connectivity option apparently. It was such a stupid move in Rockstar’s part

Games@lemmy.world•What is on your next-to-buy list?English
5·11 days agoKenshi has been on my list for a while. Every sale I go “this is the one. I’m gonna buy it” then never end up doing it. Spider-Man I have been wanting too as well, but it’s too pricey for me personally still and with Sony killing PC ports I’m more hesitant to buy it

1·11 days agoI try to brush on story when I can, admittedly though I’ve been a little hesitant on story though too because back when I was doing my Last of Us Part II run, I made a big fuck up and assumed information I thought was common place was common place. Turns out it was not common place.
Presentation was really good. I love the Cold War aesthetic, and it doesn’t feel like it’s just stereotyping it too “here’s some Soviet imagery”, though some things like the Gravure Models on the walls kind of took me out. For acting I’d say it felt a little stilted at times. That’s not a major mood killer for me, but there were times it just kind of felt like they were reading off a script. With Art Direction though for this game, absolutely love it. I especially loved the sort of muted coldness the mountains had, a thought I can’t make up my mind whether I liked it better with the Nostalgia Filter or not.

31·11 days agoLocal runs on device, so no need to connect to a big data center that chugs lots of water and all those other problems. Of course, because it’s a smaller far tinier model it’s nowhere near as accurate, but especially for things like this you don’t really need a big accurate LLM model.
I think I also though I should warrant a disclaimer that I am a Software Developer, not a AI Developer. So there’s far less backing then from my perspective than someone who works with this stuff for a living

Does the online work with Linux? I had assumed it wouldn’t under proton but if it does I might give it a try
