18·2 months agoYeah, he clearly was inciting. He chose to provoke others to get a video for his online followers. Even had his meta glasses recording - verbally trolling people.
What a piece of shit.

2·2 months agoYeah, the only thing missing from this article is that the title doesn’t end with “, as intended.”

World News@lemmy.world•US has ‘squandered’ its claim to world leadership under Trump, German chancellor Merz suggestsEnglish
14·2 months agoThe idea that the corrupt conservative network that continues to empower Trump will collapse without him is laughable. These people aren’t beholden to that orange idiot. They will lose the person who brought them here but they have long been ensuring they won’t need him once he has gone. And those people aren’t nearly as inept as Trump.

Technology@lemmy.world•Amazon's Ring cancels Flock partnership amid Super Bowl ad backlashEnglish
48·2 months agoAbsolutely not because of privacy concerns. But definitely not about a resources or time issue. This is them responding to the negative backlash without acknowledging their tone deaf Superbowl ad. If there was time or resource issue they wouldn’t have dropped tens of millions of dollars bragging about it.

Religion is the old school use of fear to manipulate people.
Gen Z refers to the demographic cohort born roughly between 1997 and 2012. So ages 13 to 28. Seven years of data is a fine enough sample set.

1·4 months agoAs an American, I am just smart enough to want my MAGA fathers, brothers, uncles, sons and grandsons to be meat grinded. They only learn when it affects them directly.

2·4 months agoIMO that is the biggest success. We have gone on too long having too much sway in the world. Power we have proven over and over and over that we are not responsible enough to wield.

21·4 months agoThe LLM comparison to a team of human developers is a great example. But like outsourcing your development, LLM is less a tool and more just delegation. And yes, you can dig in deep to understand all the stuff the LLM is delegated to do the same as you can get deeply involved with a human development team to maintain an understanding. But most of the time, the sell is that you can save time - which means you aren’t expecting to micro manage your development team.
It is a fractional CTO problem but the actual issue is that developers are being demanded to become fractional CTOs by using LLM because they are being measured by expected productivity increases that limit time for understanding.

News@lemmy.world•FIFA gives President Donald Trump a peace prize in a departure from its traditional focus on sportEnglish
2·4 months agoThe only defense I could give to FIFA here is that likely someone there took into account whether the orange idiot would take it this way, only to quickly dismiss it given the mounds of evidence that he wouldn’t see beyond the moment of flattery. Doesn’t not make them garbage as well - rather just collectively capable of some awareness. Unlike Trump…

13·4 months agoHow fucking stupid does a guy have to be to view this as anything other than an embarrassing gift.
Hey Trump, here’s your “you didn’t actually win a Nobel peace prize” reminder. We made it gold so you can put it on your shelf of gaudy schlock and always be reminded you are an imbecile.
Plot twist, she is actually talking about RAM.

12·4 months agoTo be fair, if this results in football changing to hand egg this will be the first Trump policy I would get behind. It would just be so funny… oh god, this is how people become MAGA trolls… Am I turning?! Oh no…

1·5 months agoWho are these “they” you speak of? Do you mean the small handful of christians that actually adhere to their own religious texts?

I have known too many Catholics to believe this. Unless they could wipe out these governments with passive aggressive looks.
