Wow, I wonder if I’ll have more or less money to buy things that cost more if I’m not spending money on gas? 🤔

[laughs in public transit]

To me it sounds like they were going for confusion with OpenOffice.

So does the TSA. You used to be able to walk up to the boarding gate with people by walking through a metal detector. Nobody took off their shoes. ICE literally wouldn’t have a foot in the door with airports right now if they weren’t filling in for empty TSA positions.
I understand it’s worse for ICE to be there than the TSA, but the TSA doesn’t have to be there either.
You just had to wait for the library to open, check the card catalog for relevant keywords, and hope they had a book on the topic!

Doctors can probably be bargained with in this scenario if you have the beans to pay.
I’m old enough to remember a republican Senate candidate getting dragged for suggesting this as an alternative to the ACA.

Definitely not, it’s bad for the most vulnerable portion of society to not have access to money. You can’t pay rent or a doctor with corn and beans.

Mass printed paperbacks aren’t sacred texts. Everyone should feel free to write on them, highlight them, cut them apart, paint on them, and make art with them. Especially books made by a trash bigot.
Yeah, I was gonna ask why someone cut it, that’s the part that cracks me the fuck up. I’m pretty sure this was literally the first image I saw on the fediverse that made me absolutely lose it:

Smoking too much weed is stereotyped with eating junk food, but no fruit has ever tasted better to me than when I’m blazed.

Is it technically a concentration camp and not an extermination camp if they purposefully build it in a place where climate change will do all the killing for them?

Does it sound plausible from the perspective of a company that has probably at minimum thousands of accounts getting deleting or renamed per day? This seems like something that would have caused much bigger problems much earlier, just due to the number of people involved.

Yeah, it seems implausible to me that such a gaping security hole would be in a hugely popular game that long, but I guess that’s also not impossible. Stupider things have happened.

Importantly, even if the new law is followed to the letter and all trans people get replaced licenses (doubt) that have the wrong gender marker, that’s still a dangerous situation for someone to be in if they get pulled over by a cop, show their ID to pick up medication or enter a club, it invites discrimination if they need to show ID to rent… it adds no value to society and exists solely to harm trans people. It’s pure animus.

Is there any reason to believe it wasn’t hacked? If I’m murdered then my account being accessed doesn’t prove I’m secretly alive. Especially if I used insecure passwords like Epstein is reported to have done.
It’s not impossible, but if he was still alive I find it hard to believe he’d just access it once and never again. Stupid billionaires with bad passwords probably happens all the time and we just don’t know about it because they’re not at the center of an international child sex exploitation crime ring.

I had to completely drop a PODCAST! that was doing this with background music. I tried to power through it and nearly lost my marbles.

In fairness, I guess it’s possible it’s not because of MBFC but because of one of the ‘alternative’ sites that sell you a quick, easy, zero thought source evaluation (who just happen to lift MBFC’s ratings virtually identically).
But you’re absolutely correct, it’s centering a mainstream American cultural point of view, which itself is political and biased. The idea of “unbiased” is a joke in anthropological circles for a reason; everyone has bias. Erin’s bias is towards not wanting to fucking die while the New York Times’ bias is towards using neoliberal ideology flirting with fascism to make the maximum amount of money possible, but only one of them is verboten here.

This post is going to get deleted, because MBFC rated Erin in the Morning as “mixed factuality” years ago while misrepresenting the “failed” fact checks by removing context. The dumbfuck (almost certainly cis) person who rated her article about TN introducing a bill to force drag performers to get a permit with the state as untrue can fucking fight me IRL. A bill that doesn’t define what drag or a performance is is a risk to trans people, and anyone who thinks otherwise is an ignorant jackass. Doesn’t matter that mainstream media outlets cite her trans legislation risk map, she’s UnReLiAbLe.
But MBFC lets them turn their brains off when evaluating sources, so one of the most prominent independent trans reporters isn’t allowed here because the mods are intellectually lazy.
There have been 400+ pokemon added since this meme was made. My knees hurt.
I don’t know how else to explain that by taking public transit I’m not paying for gasoline to power a personal car, meaning money I would have spent on gasoline from the gas station is money I now have for more expensive goods I can’t avoid buying, like food. People who aren’t taking public transit are paying for more expensive shit and also more expensive gasoline.
This is basic math.
