Ukraine doesn’t even need to ask. They literally had nukes until they gave them up in 1996 because USA said they’d protect them (and Russia said they wouldn’t invade).

This ball and cup game is basically Enron 3.0; where they use revenue they haven’t earned yet, to pre-purchase ram/hardware that hasn’t been made yet.

Since all of them are in bed with each other I doubt us poors will see more than mere drips when everything gets liquidated.

What’s different about this boom is that it’s being used to fund purchases of land, computer hardware, and data centers. Unlike the dot com bust, where all the devalued companies left behind was mostly useless websites.

So they’ll be able to maintain their market dominance of AI, just under private ownership instead of the defunct public companies that went bust.

This is a ball and cup game, more so a Ponzi scheme, than the fomo pump and dump that was dot com.

I got certified for a software suite and at the end during Q & A the instructor just pulled up chat gpt with all the install manuals preloaded to answer people’s hardware/version specific questions.

Everyone acting like AI being useful is an outlier is coping. Rightfully so given the state of the world but still coping.

I assumed it would get much better when my cohort of Gen X came through, same as young millennials think today.

TBF the same generation has been in power for 30-40 years now. If the torch had actually been passed it would be a different timeline.

Unpopular opinion but youtube + music is good value.

But my journey here was unique.

I grew up during the era when ipods / mp3 players incentivized having personal libraries of music files. After itunes became hostile towards that I switched to Google Music which allowed you to upload music files and stream them to your devices. It was great because I had some obscure remixes and indy band albums that I’d lost the CD for years ago.Ended up paying for Google Music after a 3 month trial.

Eventually Google Music became Youtube Music and with it came Youtube Premium. Tried Spotify but it didn’t have some artists that I can’t remember now anyways. So I just kept paying for youtube music and not seeing ads on youtube.

I’m imagining his robot hating Detective Spooner from iRobot, walking around the matrix being pissed off. Or in inception confused and pissed off.
