Probably not care. I’ve already given up on watching movies since American dross is usually what is on offer. TV is from Europe and so far isn’t AI. I’ve been to more live theatre and cultural events in the last year than I was in the previous 10. Unless they start having very realistic robots do the performances and I can’t tell from real actors, that is probably where most of my support of artists will go instead of corporate crap.

Been there, done that - kept my morals/ethics. I am retiring this year. Not as well off as maybe I could have been but I can look myself in the mirror and I sleep well at night. I have enough. Not as much as others who put money above everything, but enough. I also never need to worry about someone stabbing me or shooting me because my business caused loss to them. I don’t have to worry that my partner or children are toxic and only want my money which often happens to people who don’t have ethics or morals and are only out for the money themselves - like attracts like?
Lots of practice and then some more. Take your time going through the process of learning the notes. Consistently repeated effort makes a big difference.
I can see that, if you think that just getting the paper is enough. It is contrary to the idea that university was a place to learn how to learn and gain knowledge that could then be used in your life. Undergrads didn’t lead to employment, they led to further career or education opportunities. If all a diploma mill generates is slips of paper without the student gaining knowledge, even $4000 is a gross overpayment.
Not sure how much money Putin has invested in Trump but it is paying off in spades. Imagine the cost of an actual war against the US vs how he’s destroying the country without any boots or armament ever hitting US ground?
I returned to university a decade ago to get a degree. I’m not sure I would trust many of the younger graduates to really understand what they studied. They were very good at memorization and most exams had enough MC questions that they could pass but if they were confronted with written long answer questions, the class average went down dramatically. I can only assume that fully online degrees are of this calibre student. Great at memorization, poor at understanding.
If you are really that precarious, you will probably be on the street soon anyway due to Trump’s upheaval around the world. Better get planning on how to be homeless.
Can we start bombing the USA instead? It would solve most of the rest of the world’s problems. At very least could we impose economic sanctions on them? End US petrodollars? Inflict just a fraction of the misery they are constantly inflicting on the rest of the world back on them?
Depends. If they are white and middle class probably not an issue. Otherwise it might not be received in the ‘get to know you way’ it is intended. I lived in Vancouver for 40 years but didn’t live there as a child. As the joke goes, no one is from there everyone just moves there at some time in their life. If you ask a white person about it, they will tell you where they came from or if they are one of the few born there. If you ask anyone else they will complain that you are racist. Don’t even try to ask about ancestry or language or accent because it is all considered racist. So ask about the weather instead and if they are friendly they will add more to the conversation and if they don’t, they probably don’t want to get to know other people anyway.
Some way people need to realize we are all human and need to work together for the world but greed of the few, aided by politics & religion used to control the many, keeps getting in the way.
It is so funny that the prudishness of Americans is what leads to signs like this. It cannot say only flush feces, urine and tp or even use common names like poop or pee because ‘people’ would be offended. Nor can they say do not flush tampons or other menstruation products, because we cannot talk about such things in public. So we end up with signs that are ripe for literal, and childish, interpretations.
Well it isn’t like both teams and spectators haven’t been warned. Any foreigner willingly setting foot inside the US deserves whatever ICE does to them.

So what? The US causes famine all over the world whenever it wants to for political reasons. Look what Cuba is going through simply because they won’t change government to what the US wants. If there is any karma, Americans should feel some of the pain they so blithely inflict on others.
Over the last 14 months at least one country in the world should have learned that lesson. Trump, and therefore the USA, is completely untrustworthy. It’s why I don’t care how much or little Carney is doing about CUSMA. We know Trump will make whatever deal he wants and then disregard it the next day if that is what he wants then. Why waste time pretending to negotiate?
I don’t mind them reading the Bible, if they are able to read the whole thing, one end to the other. For many people, a thorough reading of the bible beginning to end is what causes them to question Christianity and realize that it is a population control tool for those with power (and riches), not the word of a God. It is such an incoherent mess that cannot literally be followed - if you follow one edict, you break another. Reading it destroys the idea that an all powerful, all knowing God was it’s roundabout creator. If there was a God surely it could have done a better job, even using inadequate humans to produce the product. So, after reading, you know it was a man made project. The Koran and Torah yield similar results. I think that is the main reason why religions try, or have tried in the past, to restrict reading to a select few leaders and try to keep the propaganda to what they want it to mean at any given time in history.
Don’t know. Probably not. I, straight female, have been attracted to straight presenting males since as long back as I have memories. But if I was prepubescent now and going forward, who knows, maybe my attractions would have changed?
North American car companies are doing the LAMF thing. They have spent the last 4 decades stifling innovation in EV or fuel efficient cars to appease the gas lobby and create monster sized vehicles that they can convince a gullible consumer are necessary. If they had spent even 25% of their R&D on what comes after fossil fuels, they would be able to compete with China now. Same as Africa skipped the whole phone lines thing and went strait to cellular, China is now skipping ahead to the next generation not wasting time on producing past generations stuff. Wind and solar power, batteries are the same. Do I feel sorry for industries that pegged themselves to gas when consumers asked for different? Not it the least. They reaped what they sowed, or failed to sow.
Oh they realized. But it was their job. To question it might put them out of work. Can’t take the risk. Can’t do anything about it now - try to blame Theil or Trump - even though they are the ones that built it and looked the other way the entire time. It isn’t descending into fascist. It was being built to enable and protect fascism when it came back out in the mainstream.
