Answering myself: seems pretty complete indeed.
Though a further question comes to mind, thanks to @Shellofbiomatter@lemmus.org’s meme, how do these expenses translate to profits? And further into the tangent, it could be analysed if it’s a trend, or a bubble reading to burst.
Going to read it, but some early questions come to mind, like if they considered the average per-game cost, if they considered standard deviation, if they considered the average income of a developer or from a developer’s country, etc.

Indies still seem to tackle such.
Major games, at least by production value or how much they could spend on ads, are usually bland, and/or if carrying a message, it’s dubious at best.
Meanwhile, indies are more free to do what they want, instead of having to follow orders of someone pushing an agenda or that just cares for profit based on brand.
If you’d be willing to sift through, you can find way too many good titles on places like Steam, GOG, and in a surprising quantity even on Itchio, plus other places, sure.

There’s also a community for it here on the fediverse, to those interested: !Ollama@lemmy.world
Also, from my tests, it works decent enough even on Android’s Termux, though a powerful phone seems needed.

Iirc, yeah, Plus! is Unity-based.
Also I’ve seen a few engine interpreters over the years. None as overarching as ScummVM and JoiPlay, in this order, but pretty useful stuff. I should check some time if I still have a list of such tools.

First version uses Ren’Py, so likely playable on JoiPlay.

Not a deciding factor but it certainly tips the scale, usually in a positive light when it has relevancy.
Unity nowadays usually just works on Linux, despite usually feeling somewhat detached from any environments. Games made on RPG Maker, Scumm or to a lesser degree, Ren’Py, are super portable thanks to wrappers made for them. RPG Maker and Unity both also make it pretty obvious when a game was cheaply made. Unreal Engine’s graphics to me are anywhere between an ugly plastic/rubber appearance (but I could list some games I recommend in spite of that) to straight up and literally nauseating. Game Maker and Godot/Redot I’ve never had any major issues, so spotting them warrants a “nice, I guess” at most. And so on.

Thanks too! Was in a similar situation as B0rax.

If it still turns on, it still has an use!

I’d rather have the original graphics, thank you very much

To my knowledge, only games with private rooms where you know who’s entering would be safe from cheaters.

Dunno “rise”, but certainly isn’t unprecedented for mods or similar to get standalone releases. Black Mesa and UNLOVED both come to mind.
And if we stretch definition a little, to my knowledge, Super Bernie World, Luanti, and apparently now S&Box all allow being used as engines for making mods as standalone games.

LLM shoehorning aside, holy shit, mobile-oriented site designs never fail to negatively impress me. Dunno if it’s the poor use of space, way too many pre-made categories shoved in the sidebar, text elements not being as clearly differentiated making them be ADHD triggers/inducers, or something else, but the beta forum for Stack Overflow feels like it ticks each problem I can think of.
Please give the jank. At least jank is usable, predictable and doesn’t make you feel like you need to take focus drugs/meds.

Feels like the article goes through the same points in different ways every few paragraphs, so in short:
With Attie, anyone will be able to build their own custom feed just by typing in commands in natural language, the same as if they’re chatting with any other AI chatbot. To use the app, people will sign in with their Atmosphere login (meaning their login for any app that runs on atproto, which includes Bluesky). Attie will immediately understand what you’ve been talking about, what sort of things you like, and more, because Bluesky and the wider ecosystem are open systems that share data across apps.
You can ask Attie questions, like what posts you might like to see or repost, and you can use the app to curate your own custom feed, personalized to you.
At launch, Attie can be used to build and view these feeds, which will later become available to you within Bluesky or any other atproto app. Over time, the plan is to allow Attie’s users to vibe-code their own social apps as well as build tools for other people.
Also, from experience, AIs are miserable to suggest feeds with any level of nuance past generic requests, somehow worse than asking in groups and forums with people that don’t interpret what you asked for.
What would your ultimate distro be like?
The one that fits one’s needs the best. Given your frustration with unstable systems, I’d say the best ones would be those that take longer to make major updates, like Debian, Mint and Slackware, as then issues aren’t introduced as frequently, and older ones are better known and easier to fix or even preemptively circumvent.

So, is who’s paying trusthworthy? And furthermore, is Mozilla trustworthy?
