I looked it up, it’s optional. What I was remembering was from online racing where it’s just off regardless. But, another option for OP to change how he wants!

I’d say you’d be more likely to enjoy it than not. Obviously racing is a big part of it, but exploration is another, and it usually does a decent job of that. It’s a little hamstrung because you have a GPS, so you know where all the roads are, but they usually tuck some stuff away and have some things to find and collect, if it isn’t just a little over done (I think Horizon 5 had you breaking signs to get followers, and there were like almost 300 signs?). They’ve had some car unlocks hidden as well, but you get pointed to the area and it’s pretty hard not to find them. But it gives you plenty of visuals to look at, usually some decent music, and a good variety of driving activities.
Story is usually a little rough, because the premise railroads you on every game. You’re usually a festival goer in-universe with a “normal” car and you work your way into better cars by winning events and such. Not much else to it, and how else do you get the progression to better cars?
One of the aspects you may enjoy, especially if you’re artistic, is designing car liveries and staging photo shoots and such. I haven’t done in-depth liveries since Forza Motorsport 4, and I think people have found ways to basically import images to the car, but doesn’t mean you have to.
Controls are going to be basically bog-standard car controls, and controller is perfectly fine for Horizon or any Forza game, really. I’ve put, pretty easily, probably 2k hours into various Forza games, all on controller.
I’d say it is not Sim racing. It’s not Mario Kart, you do have to brake and understand a little bit about racing, but the AI is usually pretty forgiving and adjustable as you see fit, and also usually has some built in slow-downs to keep things close. Fits somewhere on the sim side of the scale, but it’s definitely not difficult racing by any means; car damage I don’t think exists outside cosmetically, and you can ram AI cars all day without much penalty.

2·5 days agoMore like noted to check out further, but it looks promising! Big question is functionality with Android Auto, which if it’s just a website, would be unlikely, but still good to have for home use! It has new releases I’d be looking for on it already too, one album literally came out yesterday and it’s on there.

2·5 days agoI’ll be honest, it could be recorded through a tin can and I probably wouldn’t be able to tell the difference lol. As long as it shows me new songs every now and then, and gives me varied radio playlists, I’m happy.

1·6 days agoI do as well, and that’ll be the hardest thing to lose, if I can’t find a good equivalent. Cause I have to swap back and forth from Android Auto to the BT player otherwise, and that suuuuuucks.

2·6 days agoI’ve heard of it, it’s on my list. My only real qualm is that I want a good “radio”. I don’t do play lists, I just hit Supermix on YT and let it play through. Spotify tried to give me the “average” of all my liked songs, so I’d end up with a Playlist that repeated the same 50 songs or so. YT Music seemed to give me varied music at a similar ratio of my liked genres, which was exactly what I wanted.
Does it have a radio function similar to that?

61·5 days agoWhat’s the free music streaming service you use that has no ads? I’d like to try it, I’m obviously in the market.
Lmao buddy resorts to this and then blocks me. What a small human.

5·6 days agoI have a reminder to cancel before the increase. It was, imo, a good deal for no ads, bolstered creator support in YT (Premium views were worth more than free, iirc), and to get YT Music, which I liked more than Spotify.
For $16/mo, I’ll set up ad-free options for YT and I’ll figure something out for music.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Has anyone ever accepted an offer from one of those "we buy your house, no questions asked" companies? If so, what was your experience? [Answered]English
2·6 days agoLmao it was surreal. The next viewing was there early in the driveway waiting to go in, and they heard a like crashing noise, then the people inside quickly left, and made it a point to say “yeah the counter was already broken” and just dipped lmao. The 2nd groups realtor told ours, because obviously why wouldn’t they lol

3·7 days agoLol the shit hole state part was all the damning evidence I needed.
Yeah, it just isn’t worth it. Selling is, all things considered, pretty painless, especially if you have no work needed. Just sit and listen to offers, and try to determine which ones are real people vs private equity if you want. Although when I sold mine, we had people literally break our counter during a viewing? Lmao so that kinda sucked but it was a minor inconvenience.

3·7 days agoI’m assuming your state based on the dubvee lol, but I wouldn’t trust a damn thing about them. You’d lose more money to them than you’d pay to a realtor after a successful sale. The market is weird rn, so idk if it’s still solidly a sellers market, but you’d still likely come out way ahead going through a realtor. It honestly is not a bad process, it just sucks because if your house won’t pass inspection or appraisal, it’s a headache to get stuff fixed.

3·10 days agoI’ve wanted to go back and play Halo: MCC campaigns again, but for whatever reason, MCC doesnt allow dual-input. I have an Azeron I use cause of arthritis, which means I can’t use it, because I have a full second delay between a mouse input and the Azeron input. I could just use a controller, but like…I don’t wanna. Lol.
Maybe I’ll keep messing with it, see if I can figure it out next weekend. You have inspired me. Also, always love seeing these!

News@lemmy.world•Quadruple amputee cornhole player was defending himself when he fatally shot car passenger, lawyer saysEnglish
2·14 days agoYup! He played some CoD and 2k, I think, and I played a game with him called MX Bikes. He was actually pretty damn good at it, even without considering the amputations. He was also featured in a short ESPN doc after winning his regional cornhole championship or something to that effect.
One of the few games I enjoy buying on multiple platforms.
