For the fourth time in its history, the Endangered Species Committee met Tuesday to decide whether to grant an exception to federal animal protections. It chose to allow oil and gas drilling in the Gulf of Mexico to operate without regard for critical species, such as the Rice’s whale.
I think they bastardized the Bible’s permission to eat meat into ownership of all animals to do what conveniences them.
After the Noah’s ark story, God says “God tells Noah, "Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you all things”
This meant to consume, but human greed never seems to allow us to consume sustainability. We have a very religious babysitter who feels strongly that animals have no souls and therefore are of lesser importance than humans. As though the whole world was laid out for us like a playmat, and when we destroy it God will just get us more toys.
Well, same god that killed all but a handful of humanity and all but two of each animal, so… Don’t make appeals to their mercy or empathy, they have none.
