If I wanted to subject myself to repeated brute-force political messaging, I’d watch cable news.

Sometimes it can be less heavy because people crosspost their thing and you just need to block 'em. But often they are just reposted and damn if i hate seeing the same post 4 times even if i like it

Half of these problems would be solved with a tagging system like on Reddit, then you could just block by tags

I’m pretty sure PieFed rolled out a tagging system, but clients haven’t caught up yet

That would depend on users following the tagging system. If Imgur is any indication, political posters will purposely not do that, because they think it’s their god-given mission to “spread awareness.”

Not if we had a system in place for users having the ability to submit tags and the mods to implement those tags.

You’re so right, and they are utterly self-defeating. By attempting to force people to engage, they’re having the opposite effect. People are disengaging instead, and I don’t blame them. We need our spaces for silly humor.

I doubt cable news is making fun of Americans suffering from the same imperialistic practices they applied in the rest of the world through Pepes and captions, lol.
